Although other labels may say Angus, that’s where the similarities end. The difference between the Certified Angus Beef® brand and other Angus beef is the palatability in each bite. The Certified Angus Beef® brand’s 10 stringent specifications, above the CBGA and USDA standards, guarantee superior taste, tenderness, appearance and consistency. Less than 4% of all Canada beef qualifies for the brand’s premium mark. The secret to the Certified Angus Beef ® brand’s outstanding flavor is in marbling, the little white flecks of flavor within the meat that ensure every bite is flavorful and juicy.

The Certified Angus Beef® brand is available for anyone to purchase however, if you wish to use the federally registered trademarks for the brand, a licensing agreement must be obtained. Licensing upholds the Certified Angus Beef® brand’s integrity and protects the value it brings to your business. There are no fees, no term limits, and no volume commitments.

If you are committed to upholding the brand’s integrity and wish to display the Certified Angus Beef® brand logo on your menu, 2 different licensing options are available.

  • 100% (Gold) Level Licensing – All steak, roast and ground beef items on the menu must be Certified Angus Beef®brand
  • Line-Item (Silver) Level Licensing – Not all beef products (steaks, roasts and ground beef) are the Certified Angus Beef® brand, but one or more items are. Promotions of these items are limited to the menu.
