Herbert J. Powell Golf Tournament

Atlantic Grocery Distributors recently held its Annual Herbert J. Powell Golf Tournament in aid of the Alzheimer Society of Newfoundland and Labrador. AGD is thrilled to announce, through the hard work of countless volunteers and dedicated participants, this year we have raised more than $15,000!

Alzeimer’s is a progressive disease, where dementia symptoms gradually worsen. Dementia is an overall term for a set of symptoms that are caused by disorders affecting the brain. Symptoms may include memory loss and difficulties with thinking, problem-solving or language, severe enough to reduce a person’s ability to perform everyday activities. A person with dementia may also experience changes in mood or behaviour.

This year, AGD returned to the site of it’s very first golf tournament, The Wilds at Samlonier River. This annual event wouldn’t be possible without the effort of our very committed volunteers who spend many weeks organizing the tournament, in particular AGD’s Bram Piercey.
